During this challenging time, DODD’S Furniture & Mattress, located on Vancouver Island, wanted to help by creating a fundraising campaign in support of The Victoria Foundation, The Jawl Foundation, and Times-Colonist. I reached out to Brian Adam of DODD’s Furniture to discuss how COVID-19 has affected their business and this campaign.
DODD’S Furniture & Mattress has been family owned and locally operated since its inception in 1977. We have now grown to become one of Vancouver Island’s largest independent furniture retailers, with three locations in Victoria, Campbell River, and Nanaimo.
Our company is quite unique, specializing in affordable, functional furniture that is made for every room in your home. Almost half of our furniture is Canadian made, with most pieces being crafted right here in British Columbia.
The management team at DODD’s furniture & mattress recognizes the importance of giving back to the community, so we work to host a number of fundraisers on behalf of local non-profit groups, amateur sports teams, schools and nationally-registered charities to coordinate relief efforts when any sort of disaster may happen, locally or globally.
Becoming one of Victoria’s largest independent furniture retailers, we at Dodd’s Furniture & Mattress want to extend our current fundraising campaign in support of The Victoria Foundation, the Jawl Foundation and Times-Colonist through May 31st, 2020 with 10% of all ONLINE sales in Victoria and Campbell River going directly to Vancouver Island’s Rapid Relief Fund.
We accept cash donations at both of our locations in Victoria & Campbell River. Although our Nanaimo grand opening has been delayed, mid-island customers can shop with confidence knowing 10% from their online sales are destined for Nanaimo Foundation and Tom Harris Community Foundation.
